About the Artist
For Andre, a blank canvas is an invitation to celebrate life. Originally from Hammond, Indiana, Andre now creates from his home studio in the Seattle, Washington area.
What started as a childhood hobby of sketching cartoon characters has evolved into a lifelong mastery of fine art. As a self-taught artist, Andre’s creative vision shifted over time toward the profound connection between human anatomy, physiology, and spirituality. Driven by a desire to uplift his community, his portfolio proudly highlights the rich strength, deep beauty, and enduring joy of Black culture.
Working primarily with oils and acrylics, Andre uses a unique style defined by bright, bold colors, intricate details, and a dynamic sense of movement. Early in his career, Andre’s uplifting artwork was showcased and sold at Seattle area's first African American art gallery, and he frequently gives back by donating original pieces to charities like the United Negro College Fund, and more.
Through his company, The Stroke of Andre, he offers both original paintings and premium giclée prints.
